Savage Affiliates Review: Franklin Hatchett’s Affiliate Course

This is my Savage Affiliates review, a new affiliate marketing course created by Franklin Hatchett who is well known in the drop shipping space with his course Ecom Elites and premium Shopify theme, Ecom Turbo.

>>Checkout Version 2: Launched July 28th 2019 (Full Review)<<

Recently Franklin launched a new course called Savage Affiliates which focuses on the world of affiliate marketing and how you can make $10,000 per month through various free and paid traffic techniques.

I’ve reviewed both of Franklin’s previous products and I highly recommended them for the price he charges and the value for money you as a consumer actually get. Forget paying $1,997 from fly by night guru’s, you can pay $197 once and get triple the content for 1/10th of the price.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make passive income. Once you setup everything, if you’re using free traffic it’s a set and forget system that will ensure you make money for years to come.

If you look at some of the reviews on my blog (which is 2+ years old) I’m getting commissions from recommendations that I made in 2016. It really is a sweet way to make money from anywhere in the world. It’s easy to get started and anyone can do it (yes really, anyone!).

Savage Affiliates Review

Savage Affiliates is a course created by Franklin Hatchett that will help you to learn the concept of affiliate marketing. It’s currently priced at $197 or $297 and offers 150+ videos on both free and paid affiliate methods.

savage affiliates review

Currently Savage Affiliates is only available to those in the know, or those who purchased his existing courses (like me) so you might not find many reviews or information out there.

Fortunately I’ve gone through the 100+ videos included in the course. Yes, there really is over 100 videos within Savage Affiliates. Believe it or not, this is a huge course for such a low price tag.

Like all of Franklin’s videos, there is a wide variety of video quality videos. If you can handle it there is 1080P and then a variety of sizes down to 360 which is perfect for those with slow internet connections. Videos are hosted on Vimeo so are fast loading and you can drag and drop to a specific timeframe.

The course is split up into these sections:

  • Module 1: Affiliate Introduction
  • Module 2: Niches & Products
  • Module 3: Building Your Assets
  • Module 4: Clickbank Affiliate Marketing
  • Module 5: Amazon Affiliate Marketing
  • Module 6: SEO Traffic
  • Module 7: Paid Traffic Training
  • Module 8: Free Traffic Training
  • Module 9: Email Marketing Training.

1. Affiliate Introduction

This module is the welcome introduction although there is a standalone video for welcoming you to the course as well. Franklin gives you a run down on the modules in the course.

These videos are called, ‘how we’ followed by the module so for example, “how we use free traffic” etc, etc.

There is also an important video you should watch (adding disclaimers, relevant for those in the US and USA primarily) along with a video on learning the basics of SEO. If you want to create a truly passive income for yourself then you should learn how SEO works to utilize free traffic.

2. Niches & Products

This module has 12 videos (at the time of writing) and includes a welcome video, getting started and then breaks into the content starting with which niches to use and how to find affiliate offers. Personally this is one of the best sections as without a good offer you’re pretty much dead in the water.

The course goes on to show you how to find products to promote and then dives into specific marketplaces with offers/products to promote. Currently there is a video dedicated to the following, Clickbank, Amazon, Jvzoo and Health Market.

I’ve actually used all these platforms before although I’m not a huge fan of Clickbank as it’s so easy to people to request refunds. Clickbank almost hands them an email saying, get a full refund if you’re not happy. Given they are a marketplace for digital goods it’s simple to get a full refund even if you enjoyed the product.

Franklin then goes on to show you how to take advantage of the numerous web hosting offers available. If you’re curious, web hosting affiliates can earn up to $150 for simply referring a paying customer. Web hosts make money on the renewals.

Then you’ll get an overview on Shareasale, another popular platform for working with retailers and digital products with the training here concluding with a video on CPA Networks. I’ve had experience with both and unfortunately the issue lies in payments, you can wait up to 60 days to get paid out.

Videos are short and snappy with the average being around 10-15 minutes. There’s no fluff here, straight to the point content from Franklin.

3. Building Your Assets

This section is focused on creating a website in simple terms. There’s a video on choosing a domain name, starting your website using WordPress, navigating your website and installing those must have plugins.

If you’ve got experience creating WordPress websites then you can probably skip these videos however if you’re a drop shipper (Franklin’s other courses) using Shopify then you might find these videos useful for creating and setting up your web assets correctly.

The videos go one and show you how to get started with an email platform for creating your subscriber list. I’m sure you’ve heard it time and time again that the money is in the list, so I’d definitely recommend starting one. You can even use free alternatives such as Mailerlite. Franklin shows you how to create forms and landing pages too.

The last few videos focus on Facebook social chat bots and the power of social media. This was a new topic, even for me so I’d recommend spending some time here, it’s definitely a far better option compared to email marketing for 2018, anyway.

4. Clickbank Affiliate Marketing

Okay, this section was HUGE and I’ve actually had experience with Clickbank previously but I managed to watch all the videos for you to get a good idea what exactly you’re getting.

Anyone can create a free Clickbank account, you just need a website. It’s probably one of the easiest platforms to sign up for, no long waiting times or problematic sign up forms. By default you’re set to NET30 payments which means you get paid 30 days after the month before. Yes it’s a hassle but once you send volume, you’ll get paid every two weeks.

The first few videos in this section (there’s currently 27) deal with setting up an account and filing your tax forms (boring!). The next videos show you how to choose the right products/services to sell and how to use the platform, what do those factors mean such as ‘gravity.’

There’s a video on what you’ll be building which shows you how to setup a review style website for a Clickbank product. Word of caution here, don’t pick a product no one is buying, you’re wasting your time!

Franklin goes on to show you how to find keywords to target using various tools (good video) and even how to create articles (or buy them) if you’re lazy like me!

Savage Affiliates then goes on to show you how to setup your website for Clickbank marketing including setting up your website correctly, the 1:1 article structure, installing themes, widgets and site menus. It also shows you how to setup funnels in a two part video series and concludes with 4 real life examples where Franklin goes through the entire process for real marketplace products.

5. Amazon Affiliate Marketing

The module starts with the usual introduction videos followed by an overview on what you’re going to learn in the Savage Affiliates course. A 30 million dollar Amazon affiliate site example should be some encouragement here although we all know this would take some serious work to get there!

Savage Affiliates goes on to show you how to do proper research using Amazon and Aliexpress and various fun ways to find products to review. I’m a firm believer that affiliate marketing on Amazon is a good way to make passive income despite what some of those horror stories out there might say!

Franklin goes on to show you how to analyze the top 10 search results on Google and how to outrank them. Looking at their backlink profile, social media shares and content relevance using Ahrefs you’ll be an expert in dissecting competitor websites in no time.

Videos go on to show you how to properly setup your Amazon affiliate site including article structure, site layout, keywords and whether you want to create a niche, authority or hybrid website. Personally I like to create niche websites however authority allows you to create articles on pretty much anything you like!

The module concludes with 5 real life examples where Franklin goes over the entire process for these real Amazon products. Without spoling it for everyone here’s one of the examples, ‘Snow Blower’ – It just happens that the first ever niche site I started was on Snow Blowers.

I created a niche website on ‘best snowblowers’ – this was my main article. I then created sub articles such as ‘best two stage snowblower’ and ‘best snow shovel’ for extra traffic. I then included a silo structure and 10 blog posts to link everything together.

6. SEO Traffic

This entire section/module is dedicated to learning the basics on how to rank higher with search engine optimisation. In my own business this is the section I focus on while my team of content writers from around the world create the content that people actually read.

Franklin will show you in 29 videos on how to perform SEO from doing on page SEO and how to correctly structure your website, through to website speed and then link building.

Link building videos include Web 2.0’s, Blog comments, Quora questions, PBN Links and Franklin’s hidden links. There is also videos on setting up Google webmasters, Analytics and tracking keyword movements.

There is videos on social signals and website structure, all valuable videos in your link building campaigns. It wouldn’t look natural to Google if you had tons of links but no social presence.

This is a great module that would rival any of those SEO courses out there that charge a small fortune, I still can’t believe Franklin only charges $197 for Savage Affiliates.

7. Paid Traffic Training

When it comes to paid traffic I’m all for it when you’re drop shipping but with affiliate marketing I focus on the free organic traffic. If this isn’t your style then Savage Affiliates does cover paid traffic in great detail.

For example you’ll get 23 videos (at time of publish) on paid traffic covering Facebook, Solo Ads and Google Adwords. These two platforms are covered in most courses, it would be great to see other platforms such as Linkedin, Twitter or Pinterest.

The first ten videos focus on Facebook ads and if you’ve seen Franklin’s eCom Elites course then you’ll know how much value he stuffs into his social media marketing course. In Savage Affiliates it’s slightly tamer but still high quality.

The Facebook videos include pixel setup and configuration, funnels, eBook cover creation, ad examples and how to track profitable campaigns. The main problem with Facebook ad pixels is the inability to integrate with Clickbank or Amazon checkout to track sales.

The solo ads section is well laid out and includes a video on finding sellers and suitable sellers. There are far too many jokers out there that will take your money and buy a cheap fiver gig and mail your offer.

The last section focuses on Adwords and shows you how to setup everything including tracking and choosing audiences and keywords to target. The final video shows you how to scale your videos.

8. Free Traffic Training

This is my favorite section, if you can master the art of SEO and choosing the right products, then you can make money consistently day in day out without much effort. I’ve been traveling the world while making Amazon commissions and it always amazes me how easy it actually was to setup.

Franklin shows you how to collect email leads through lead capture forms, forum traffic and Youtube traffic. Again it’s a bit of a mish mash in the modules as SEO is a free traffic source in my opinion but is missed from this section.

The Youtube videos do include over 10 that show you how to get started, rank correctly, thumbnail setup, find keywords and setup retargeting.

9. Email Marketing Training

The final module focuses on email marketing and unfortunately seems to be thrown in at the end. Without a list you can’t really perform this method so start building your list first and then focus on this module.

You’ll learn how to get started, optimize your campaigns, automate your campaigns and create and setup newsletters. You’ll also learn how to get higher open rates. Finally there is integration with Clickfunnels and eCommerce, again this seems a little out of place.

Access to Private Facebook Group

When you purchase Savage Affiliates training program, you can get access to a private Facebook group where Franklin regularly shares his strategies and results of tests with the members. You can communicate

You can also ask questions there and get to interact with other students. Don’t forget that this offer is limited and once this offer closes, you will have to pay USD 37 a month in order to get access to this private Facebook group.

30 Money Back Guarantee

Very few training programs offer a money back guarantee. However, if you are not satisfied with this training and you don’t get the results after going through this training, you can ask Franklin for a full refund.

You have 30 days to go through the training program and if you’re not 100% satisfied, you can get a full refund no questions asked.

How To Pay With Paypal?

You can pay with both credit card and Paypal. The platform uses Teachable.com so make sure you select the drop menu on the credit card option to change it across to Paypal. Yes I got confused too but here’s how to do it.

Savage Affiliates Scam?

No this is a genuine training course from a well respected individual, this isn’t some over hyped $2,000 course and Franklin isn’t going to rip you off. The 30 day money back guarantee proves Savage Affiliates is not a scam.

Is there a discount coupon?

There is no discount or coupon for this training course. The price, like most of Franklin’s training is fixed at $197. There are many coupon and deal sites out there that will cookie stuff you with ‘fake discount codes’ – these do not exist!

  1. Hi Rhys,

Thanks for this great article. I was considering starting into drop ship shopping but your article about Mr Anton made me look further. Maybe affiliate marketing is a better path for me.

But I do have a question for you. As I am located outside the US (in Europe) and as I consider taking this course and doing affiliate marketing for US-based companies and to help US customers living in the US, I wonder if I also need to have a US (Delaware or Wyoming) based company? It is not a problem of getting one, it is a matter of time, effort and up-front investment required to get one. So, therefore the question: is such a company required for doing affiliate marketing or advised or not needed?

I look forward to your answer on this matter!

    • Affiliate marketing is definitely the easier way to get started and this course by Franklin is a perfect introduction at a low price.

I’m located in New Zealand and all my affiliate income doesn’t touch my US drop ship interests. Therefore you don’t need to have a US company to get paid via affiliate programs. All you need (for most platforms) is your personal name or international business and a Paypal account (some still use cheque or wire transfer).

Just do a profit/loss income tax return in your personal name. Can’t speak too much for your country but in NZ it’s a 5 minute process.

If you do signup for Franklin’s course it would be great if you could give me the referral 🙂

That is good to know, and saves some valuable cash on the short term. Thanks!

And yes, of course, I will sign up via your referral. Before I do that one last question: I like to make use of the offer of the $ 197. But I do have some time constraints this week. Will it be there by next Monday?

        • Honestly I can’t say for sure as it’s not my course. I’m just an affiliate so I have no say on Franklin’s intentions. It is a soft launch so you should be fine or it may be $100 more max.

  2. Got the course but here also here two points:

    1. the results you see are always the work of the last years. if you think about becoming a bluehost affiliate in 2018, think again, and again…

    2. look what they’re doing not what they’re saying. I know it because I do what these people want to do and some are actually doing and making millions. That’s where the profits are, not in selling other peoples shit, unless you’re trying to get to your 2k per month passive income over the next 1-2 years which will then come to an end within the next 3-5 years if you’re too passive (=believe that passive income is really passive)

What’s your take on Niche Pursuits Insider Training (Affiliate course by Spencer Haws)?

(Side note: I emailed Spencer regarding his course, and he responded very quickly (unlike others who have similar courses and are too busy to respond) – – so I’m assuming Spencer is easy to get thru to if any question arises.)

    Keep up u’r good work!

    • Hi AJ,

Well you need to decide if you want to start a drop ship business or affiliate marketing? It depends on your time constraints and whether you want fast returns or to build long term passive income with minimal ad costs. I’d opt for affiliate marketing then add a drop ship store in the future if I was to start again. Hope this helps.

  5. Hello Rhys,

I decided to purchase the Savage Affiliates program through your link while looking at your review for the dropshipping program with Frank. Even though I’ve only read one of your blog, which was the dropship Elite review, I felt that you were genuine and honest even if you are an affiliate. Thank you for the advice and honesty in your posts!

  6. Hello Rhys,

In one of his Youtube vids which for the life of me I can’t recall the name of, I swear Franklin said that it took him about seven years to make a sizeable and sustainable regular income from affiliate marketing and that nobody is going to enter the IM world and make big money in just a few months.

Do you agree with this assertion that it takes years to build a five- or six-figure income with aff marketing? Thank you.

    Reply
    • I disagree but you’d have to be pretty lucky to hit 6 figures in your first few months.
I think if you follow a good mentor then you’ll definitely start to see 5 figures in your first year.
You can then scale up and 6 figures could easily be reached in year two.
I have many clients that make 6 figures within 12 months. Franklin is a good coach, I think he’d say the same.

  7. God day Rhys,

Thank you for your insight. It is greatly appreciate. I just have a couple of questions. I have watched all the modules from Franklin’s Funnel training videos. Is this course along the same lines? I am a little confused now between Aff Marketing and Funnel training. There are so many videos I am not seeing clear on all this. I just feel that purchasing a course will be more compact and be much clearer.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Reply
    • Hi Sam,

No this course is a more conclusive look into affiliate marketing. The funnel training focuses on using a sales funnel using a platform such as Clickfunnels which is more tailored towards people with their own offer or product/service to promote or as a consultant. Savage Affiliates is a more concise insight into affiliate marketing and starting affiliate niche sites, getting free and paid traffic and converting that into commissions, how to find offers, platforms to use etc. I think you will get a much clearer picture by purchasing the course.

Excellent review! was considering purchasing Savage Affiliates and after reading this will definitely purchase it. In your opinion, if I was to write a blog every 2 or 3 days for about a year with an affiliate product link included in every blog is there a good chance of success? Just looking for a step by step approach which this course seems to teach where I can repeat and possibly outsource depending on the success.

    • HI Brandon, if you can’t focus 100% on the business because you’re studying then you’d be perfectly placed to buy Savage Affiliates and learn how to make a side hustle with affiliate marketing. It’s a one time setup for your websites and ongoing link building and outreach which can easily be done alongside your studies, that’s what I did and I now own over 50 websites making money online passively.

  14. Hi Rhys,

I’m looking at either doing the savage affiliates or ecom elites course – I’m wondering how can I be an affiliate for products I haven’t bought/tested myself? That would be a big cost in itself, though I’m gathering this isn’t the case – just not sure how I can basically review/recommend stuff I have no experience with?

    Reply
    • You can write about products, take a point of view of sharing content based on reviews, product specifics and details. You don’t need to buy every product to recommend it. If you want to be an authority in a niche then you should definitely buy the product/services and test them and you can probably write much more content on them. Hope it helps.

    • It depends Adi. Some Clickbank offers get huge refunds and are not profitable. If it’s a genuine problem solver then Clickbank can be a good option but I’d recommend other affiliate networks too. Amazon is good but you need lots of traffic and most keywords are quite competitive. How much time can you invest? I’d do Amazon if lots and Clickbank or another affiliate offer if not much.

  18. HI Rhys,

I am currently not sure which one to pick because both of the course is so good!!!!

Should I do Affiliate marketing ? or should I join the ecom elite for dropshipping?

From my understanding affiliate marketing do relay alot on seo and article writing. My English not that good. My writing might not be as good as the native speaker. The article and the video that i make might not be as convincing as the native.

So my last bet will be on ecom which is have a much different skill set than just language ?

    Thanks

  19. Hey Rhys,

Nice review, have a couple of questions:
    1. After how long it’s realistic to expect results with “Savage Affiliates” if you not so beginner, touched Aff and DS niches. The more likely know who is who, but not had results. (Not seeking a fast money scheme)
    2. How much time it’s enough to invest a day with Aff.
    3. How much competition there is now with off in 2019? Cause DS+shopify is more than enough, but you can make it also I guess.

Just make a genuine answer for future readers as I’m now, it will be more helpful for both sides. 🙂

    • Hi Johny,
      1. You can see results within a few days, there are many different affiliate techniques to use, it depends what you pick.
If you pick creating a blog then yes it might take a few months but if you use paid traffic you can see results within days.

      2. Again it depends on which method you choose. Personally I build websites and use organic traffic so this is very demanding but any money I make is profit.

      3. Affiliate marketing has far less competition, there’s far less courses too and given the work required to find good offers and you may have to wait for payments (unlike DS which is usually instant) a lot of people are put off. I’d say it’s a far more lucrative industry compared to DS right now, but both do still work in my opinion. I have DS businesses as well as affiliate.

It’s a lot harder to make money with affiliate sites in 2019 than it was in 2013 but there are more opportunities now too given more people using the internet and have credit cards to buy stuff 😉 and then we get a commission from each sale 😀

  21. Hi Rhys, Still tossing up between which is good for me as I don’t drop shipping course and this one. If you decide to get blog articles written for you, so you can open a bunch of different sites, how much are you basically looking at per article? And how often would you need to post to start driving traffic to your sites organically? I’m looking to play the long game, DS looks good but seems to be getting saturated at this point.

Personally, I’d do both. I’d do content affiliate marketing, get some writers creating content and ranking some websites over the next 6 months while I built my drop ship store. The store can then help to pay for affiliate work now and then reap the rewards for many years to come.

If your question is which one if I only had one choice, I’d do drop shipping, it’s a faster return like you said and one winning product is all you need to make serious cash. That is not possible with affiliate marketing unless you’re an authority site and that takes hundreds of articles which takes a lot of time.

      Hope this helps?

  24. Hi Rhys

I’m considering getting started in the affiliate/ drop space. With limited funds what would be your suggested strategy? Does savage affiliates assume you know nothing (tick) and help you identify ideal products and ad statigies? All very overwhelming at this stage.

    Reply
    • Savage affiliates gives you a good overview and understanding of the concept. They also show you multiple strategies for creating an affiliate business whether that’s content creation such as recommending offers or actually sending traffic to other people’s products. Like all of Franklin’s courses, it’s a complete A to Z approach and will suit newbies and beginners. It would be fair to say if you have no idea how it all works that you’ll learn a lot through the course and find the affiliate marketing method that interests you most. There’s many different ways to make money that Franklin covers in the course.

My strategy would depend on the money I’d have to spend. If limited I’d look at content marketing as I could write the articles myself or outsource them to a third party for a low fee, create tons of value and solve people’s problems and then recommend a product they could buy for further knowledge and earn money through affiliate sales at this point. Franklin shows this method in the course.

      Hope this helps.

There is too much competition in 2019
Can I make money in affiliate marketing if I started now ??

The course does it take me step by step to all the little details..?

    • There isn’t too much competition. You could say the same about the number of ecom stores but now there is over a million Shopify stores in the last few years. It all depends how you build your business, is it different.

You can make a lot of money if you start now and build a proper affiliate business. Yes its a step by step approach to many different methods to suit every type of affiliate marketer.

Savage Affiliates will be updated to V2 soon too.

I am already a client of e-Com Elites and most likely will purchase the savage affiliates, but I was wondering is there any solid training content in the course on Clickfunnels?

    Thanks!

You said you got Ecom Elite already right? Can you please tell me that did you implement it as in the course? And importantly have you got any sales after you learned that course? Share me whether it’s beginner friendly or not about Savage Affiliates ?

  27. Hey Rhys,

I did join Wealthy affiliate but its just hard cause i need to spend a lot of time writing and keep posting consistently, if i always outsource to a third party for my content is it ideal? budget wise and content wise? also as you can see DS and shopify is too saturated now do you think i can still make money if i join now ?

i’m confuse about choosing either Savage or Elite at this point way too overwhelming as well

    Thanks man

    • I wouldn’t say it’s saturated, there’s always opportunities out there.
If you have budget and less time, then dropship.
If you have no budget but lots of time, then affiliate.

      Reply
      • hey Rhys, yea i think saturated is a good thing cause that means there’s money to be made right

what if i have a limited budget but also less time.. seems i’m on the worst side here .. :0

any advice, please? affiliate for a long term seems the best options for now but i don’t know how to blog i mean i’ve watched Frank’s video on SEO training and stuff, got it from his free funnel share, and its overwhelming but really good content tbh.. and how many articles should you post per week or per month to start to build up the website ?

Does the course include the ‘help’ on starting up a blog for a very beginner like me ?

        Cheers Rhys

        • Yes correct. Well you don’t need to write the content yourself, you can pay someone $10-$20 for 1000 words which is the going rate for writers from Asia. This is covered in the course.

However if you do write yourself you could do 1-2 articles per week. I think you need to do one large and a couple small articles every week to bulk out your site. Then you’ll have a few main articles where you make your money and the smaller articles direct people to the main ones.

Savage Affiliates is a complete A-to-Z with module 2 showing you how to start a blog and start using it. Then other modules show you how to use affiliate offers to promote and generate content around.

Sounds like you need to buy the course, go through the modules and find a niche that interests you and start creating content. Then get some writers to complete the content and start generating free traffic and backlinks which is also covered in the course.

Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Thanks for your prompt reply,, anyway how long does it take to start making money generally ? i know it depends on the niche , ranking and stuff.. just need to know it roughly and what to expect , also apart from the $197 how much money do i need to invest more say web hosting, maybe invest in keyword search software, and outsource the content for about 3 months in advance ?

            Thanks Rhys

          • Paid traffic a few days, organic I’d say 3+ months to start seeing results. You’d need $250-$500 for content, maybe a keyword tool Frank recommends and link building on top of the course fee.

  28. Hi,

I just want to start in affiliate marketing and looking for good courses. My question is if I pay $197 for savage program, how long the program is available for me? and any other costs per month later? I believe this program will provide one to build their own website in their own domain unlike in other programs we build on their domains. is it correct?

    • It’s a one time fee, you get grandfathered into the future updates. No extra costs. Correct it shows you how to build a website as well as using sales funnels.

Thank you for this review i enjoyed the read. Just a quick question, do you have any idea how much investment youll need to spend within the first few months in order to get your business into 4 figures for example if you were to put the work in? I know it may vary but even a rough guess would be great.

  31. Hello Rhys,

I have an audience of 30k followers in the fashion niche on Instagram, and I wondered if affiliate marketing is the best option or dropshipping

I know how to get traffic organically with Instagram, but I don’t know what you be the best business that would fit that

What is the best option in your opinion?

    Reply
    • Definitely affiliate marketing, 30k isn’t that much for drop shipping, you’d be better buying and wearing clothes from an established store and then using your affiliate link with them. This is how those big IG influencers make most of their money. You have endless opportunities as there will always be stores looking for influencers to market to them. This course will help you learn how to approach them and set up your own offers.

I have $600 and not a cent more to spend on a business. I have been thinking about buying this course for a while but wonder if this is enough money to start up and start seeing profit if i put in the work. I would also like your opinion on the best way to go about it to get the best results. Drposhipping or affiliate marketing looking at my budget.

    • If that’s your only budget then stay clear of drop shipping. Affiliate marketing is for you. $197-$297 for the course and that gives you $300-400 to spend on building your first affiliate site. You can make money if you put in the work, organic or free traffic might be your best bet given your limited budget. You can buy the course here.

    • Fast results and you have capital – drop shipping
Slower long term results, less capital – affiliate.

I’d say you can get started with $500 for affiliate and $1000 for DS.

1)if i start with affiliate marketing with $1000 investing only on paid traffic i.e adwords would i see fast results and profits within few days, and how much can i earn from $1000 adwords traffic
2)i’ve heard that ecommerce doesn’t work in 2019 due to heavy competition and lot of members see same courses and apply same techniques and find same hot products..due to this it’s very hard to earn from ecommerce by following these courses..is this true?

    • Hi,

It would be unfair of me to answer that as you could lose the lot, it’s a business, some ads work, others fail, you need to test.
Realistically you could see results within hours of your ads going live if you do everything right.

There will always be a demand for affiliate and dropship business model, it’s not going anywhere and I disagree it’s hard to earn money, most people buy those courses, spend a few hundred dollars and don’t make money and claim it doesn’t work. It takes passion and determination and that’s why few succeed. 🙂

      Hope it helps.

  36. Hello, what are the upfront capital requirements (roundabout figures) for both affiliate marketing and drop shipping?

It seems that affiliate marketing is easier, cheaper and less time consuming than drop shipping, but the returns are less in the beginning and it takes a while to earn a substantial income. It also requires one to write content (which I understand can be outsourced.)

But it’s passive income which is a huge plus.

Drop shipping seems to have a steeper learning curve, is more time consuming, requires more capital to get started and is not passive. But the returns seem to be substantially larger and faster than affiliate marketing.

Do those descriptions sound about right?

If so, which one would you recommend to a 39 year old existing business owner with a family? I own and operate an appliance repair business, so it takes up most of my time during the day. I have about 1-3 hours each evening to dedicate to something worthwhile.

My goal is to build a passive income, but I want fast returns as well. I’d like to get out of debt asap and start building up a retirement fund that will provide me with that true passive income.

I have some savings but I’m not sure how much each path would require in upfront capital. Are we talking something like 1k? Or more like 5-10k to get started? How about time investment? Do you think 1-3 hours a night is enough to get started in either affiliate marketing or drop shipping?

    Looking forward to your thoughts.

    Thank you!

    • Hi Anthony,

Your descriptions are pretty much right however dropshipping is definitely not more time consuming it all depends on what you’re comparing it too. After learning the process you can launch new ads within minutes and the process does become much shorter however,

Based on what you’re said; only having 1-3 hours per night, looking for something passive and can be outsourced, then you’d be right to head down the affiliate marketing route. You could get started with 1k, probably less if you’re going the content route. Franklin shows you how to do both content and running traffic to affiliate offers. If you want passive then you’d need to go for content.

If like me you’re looking to minimize the amount of work you’re doing then you can outsource the content creation to writers for as little as $20 per 1,000 words. Based on a budget of 1k you could easily get a site with 50,000 words built for that price which is more than sufficient for ranking in Google. 50 articles of 1000 words would be a great start.

In terms of time, well you would only be optimizing the content your writers create, then building links so definitely could be within your 1-3 hours. The more you do early on, the sooner your passive income will come. Then reinvest that initial earnings back into more content and keep growing the sites out.

Personally it sounds like you’re set on affiliate marketing, that’s the area I’d pursue in your situation.

Savage Affiliates is a great course, be sure to consider it.

  37. Hi

I am looking to start an online business but I don’t have much to invest,
I would really like Shopify and create my own store and start the Ecom Elite course. But I am afraid I will need more money to invest and for now I have less than 1K. So what do you guys recommend me to do ? Start anyway with Shopify , or try to understand affiliate marketing and hope to have some income to save for Shopify ? Should I take this course instead of Ecom Elite ?

I need some wise advice people , thank you

    Reply
    • If 1k is the total max you can spend, you can definitely start either but as you said you might need more, then I’d choose affiliate marketing and start to make money and then save that and reinvest in eCommerce if you’re still keen on doing that. $700 is still a good amount to start paid ads for eCommerce.

  39. Hello Rhys, I have spent the last 3hours reading through your reviews and thankfully I saw this last, please I am based in West Africa and I have only 500$ to invest, please is investing in Affiliate marketing work for me? Would my country of residence be a barrier? Would my capital be enough to start? If i can devote 5-8hrs per day to my business, how quick can I earn profit as the $500 is all I have now but I am very willing to take the leap.

    Reply
    • I can’t answer the question how quick you can turn a profit on $500. You could lose that too, that’s why business is a risk. Your country of residence is no barrier for affiliate marketing. $500 is enough to start yes but you may need more if you aren’t successful the first time. My advice is to start the course and spend wisely, then see how you get on.

  42. Rhys – this was an excellent review on the Savage Affiliate System. I have been looking for a system that would teach in-depth use of Facebook ads and other PPC avenues. I have narrowed my search down to the following to courses.

Savage Affiliate System – by Franklin Hatchett
Commission Hero – by Robby Blanchard

Have you done a review on Robby’s course? I would very much like to see his course broken down as you did here with Franklin’s course. I know Robby’s course is much more costly which leaves questions in my mind, WHY?

Not sure if you are aware but Franklin is now offering another payment option of $297 that includes several more training modules in what he is calling the SUPER PACK (on ClickFunnels marketing).

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

    • Robby is using his status as ‘Clickbank’s #1 affiliate marketer’ to promote his course hence the higher price tag. From experience Commission Hero focuses on using Clickbank offers with paid ads whereas Savage Affiliates looks at affiliate marketing as a whole with different options, i.e. creating a website, creating paid ads, using free traffic etc and only includes a short part on Clickbank. Personally I’m not a huge fan of Clickbank due to the high refund rate.
