Malik Mufasa is here with his latest Shopify course called, Glo Up eCom Program version 2.0 and today we’re going to take a look at this and whether it’s worth the money, is the creator legit and should you buy into the hype?
Tag line of the course is how to create a six figure eCommerce business today which is already slightly misleading as you won’t be making a dime today, it might take you a week or two to see results and a month or more to make 6 figures (if you’re lucky).
Who is Malik Mufasa?
Malik Mufasa is another Youtube entrepreneur that claims to have been making $2,000 per day from Shopify since his store originally launched. This all comes from one product drop ship stores.
He runs a Youtube channel which is probably where you found his course and here is where he shares the usual Youtube videos providing free information on drop shipping and eCommerce.
One of his most recent videos is titled, How to build a one product drop shipping store in 2019, beginners guide and does give a good insight into the world of one product stores.
He does seem to know what he’s talking about and has 12,000 subscribers. Videos aren’t overhyped scammy clickbait ones that we’ve come to expect from other gurus and he doesn’t drive around in a leased Lambo either.
The course is hosted on the Teachable platform and currently costs $697 but is regularly on sale. The launch price is only $37 and claims to be the cheapest price you can get this course for.
It’s likely by the time you’re reading this that the price has increased.
The sales page for the course talks a big game, but does this course deliver?
Let’s find out.
Glo Up eCom Program Review
The course is split up into 7 modules with various bonuses and an introduction section:
- Module 1: Shopify
- Module 2: Product Research
- Module 3: Facebook Ads Advanced
- Module 4: Scaling 2019 Formula
- Module 5: Instagram Growth
- Module 6: Secret Traffic Source
- Module 7: Email Marketing
- Bonus: Facebook $0 – $1000 Step-By-Step Walkthrough.
The first thing I noticed is how short the course is. Most videos are less than ten minutes long and some modules only include a few videos. Email marketing for example only includes one video.
Given the price I paid, $37, it’s ok to expect this but if you paid the full $697 you’d probably be a bit disappointed at the lack of content. This is my opinion and you may place a higher value on less content.
Module 1: Shopify
This module included videos on getting started with Shopify.
Five videos all less than two minutes each such as themes, must have Shopify apps, setting up your domain name and importing products. No mention about choosing a domain name, product selection, why using Shopify vs a competitor.
Very limited information for a beginner.
Module 2: Product Research
20 minutes across three videos makes up the product research section. Again this is super short compared to other courses I’ve reviewed that include well over an hour on this topic.
It’s probably the most important topic in starting an eCommerce business.
Videos include winning Facebook product research and a couple of cheat sheets for choosing the best products. OK the information provided is helpful and slightly different to other courses.
Module 3: Facebook Ads Advanced
In this section you get a brief run down on Facebook Ads and how to be successful.
There’s a tool for finding unlimited audiences which was helpful and this was quite informative.
The section then goes on to show you why some ads don’t work in 2019 and the formula he uses for setting up a Facebook Ad campaign.
Lastly a good video on duplicating ad audiences to make more money.
Again it depends on your product, you might not be a success everytime.
Module 4: Scaling In 2019
This module was five videos in length offering an insight into Facebook metrics for 2019 and he actually gives you his 6 figure store adsets and metrics.
The information is limited but it may help you in your business.
There’s videos on analyzing metrics and reading your data and how to use custom audiences and lookalikes.
Module 5: Instagram Growth
The module starts with a video on growing your Instagram followers and a video on Instagram mistakes that will not get you sales.
This module was three videos, far too short in my opinion.
Where’s the content on Influencers?
Module 6: Secret Traffic Source
I won’t spoil the fun here.
Module 7: Email Marketing
This is one video on using email marketing in your business. Again far too short in my opinion, there’s a ton of information out there that could have been included.
Bonus: Facebook $0-$1000 Blueprint
It’s a nice bonus where he actually shows you a $1,000 per day Facebook Blueprint. If you were looking at other courses that include a case study this one isn’t bad either.
But remember the course was about a 6 figure store. 1k per day is not 6 figures per month so it’s a little deceptive in the case study.
There’s videos on scaling, product research, getting social proof and a final result on how much he actually made.
Refunds given only when requested by email, by a student who has purchased the course less than 14 days prior without access any of the bonuses, and has viewed less than 15% of the course. This means if you watch just one or two modules your refund will be denied.
It’s a good course, for the current price. If it goes up higher then there are far better courses out there on the market that would make this course worth no where near $697. It was short, videos were short and the content was really lacking in areas.
I enjoyed the case study and bonus content. Unfortunately viewing these then means you can’t get a refund if you’re unhappy with the course content which is lacking real basic content for beginners. Advanced users will enjoy the case study but $1,000 per day in revenue isn’t ground breaking compared to other blueprint courses out there.
Malik Musafa is a genuine guy, you can tell he’s sharing his knowledge and I respect that. He’s not flaunting his wealth to sell you a course and clearly he makes money drop shipping. The course needs to be bulked out and topics on other social media marketing platforms, chatbots, automation, taxes etc would make the course better.
For now I’d say there is a far better alternative out there called eCom Elites which costs $197-$297 and provides far more value at a similar price. Checkout my review of that course and compare the two or the sales page here. You might be surprised by looking at an alternative.
