Looking for winning products for your drop shipping business? If so then you’ve probably come across a few done for you platforms such as Drop Ship Spy, Pexda and BigBigProduct. Well now there’s another platform to consider called Product Mafia and we’ll see whether it’s worth the monthly fee or not.
One problem with winning product memberships is they quickly become saturated as the number of members grow. As more and more people have access to the same products at the same time, they quickly become less valuable resources. Right now Product Mafia is a less well known platform.
As of August 2018 they offer three tiers including a free membership for testing out their service, a $9 per month plan and a $49 plan. The pricing is similar to Pexda and much cheaper than BigBigProduct which costs a whopping $299 for their largest plan so there is quite a saving there.
The difference between the free plan and the $9 per month plan is that you have to wait 3 additional days whereas premium members get instant access whenever they are posted. You also get premium ‘untapped’ products in the premium plan.
Your first month is also discounted to $25 if you take the $49 plan.
You really do need to consider whether the products can be classified as ‘premium’ as they are ultimately ‘winning’ right now but by the time you and the other XXX amount of members get access they will probably be saturated. One good thing is that most members will never take any action, it’s a proven fact than 90% won’t use it.
Product Mafia Review
I initially signed up as a free member to see what you actually get if you don’t want to spend any money. You will see the various upsells to the premium and untapped products. There is quite a lot of free products, mostly Aliexpress ones. You can sort via various filters, categories, rankings etc.
Premium ones you can see the title, so could probably go and Google these products anyway but untapped are hidden. A countdown timer shows you when it becomes available to premium members.
You get two free unlocks to test out the premium products.
If you click on to a free product you can view the description, images and a button that allows you to push it to your Shopify store. It doesn’t connect you to the supplier but is a nice feature.
You can then see the price that someone was selling it for, it’s not obvious where that retail price was obtained from or the cost price (I assume Aliexpress). Once you upgrade to premium you can view more stats.
Here’s an example of the product if you’re on the $9 or $49 plan.
The links take you to the product page on various platforms including the store selling the item, the FB ad and the supplier. Quite a cool feature for done for you product research. Of course they can’t be 100% sure it’s the same supplier but it’s a good start.
Next you’ll see a section with some Facebook Ads. For my example there was a link to the Facebook video allowing you to simply download this and reupload to your own ads. Cool!
Next was a section on recommended Instagram influencers and their account stats that might suit this product. I’m not sure if it was randomly generated but they did seem to be related to people who might share or use your product for a shoutout.
Next was a really nice feature, as I was browsing I couldn’t find any trademarked or copyrighted products which have plagued companies such as Drop Ship Spy and it was revealed on the page with this box.
Next was an interest targeting box which I assume is random rather than pulling this from the actual Facebook ads they were targeting. I’m not sure but it is a great feature to help beginners find the best targeting for their ads.
Lastly was reviews from Aliexpress which can be a bit hit or miss so probably best to avoid importing these into your store unless they look awesome. Unfortunately for my product the reviews complained of slow delivery.
This is a great platform and probably one of the best I’ve reviewed so far. The lack of copyrighted and trademarked products is a strong bonus and will ensure all drop shippers do good honest business. There is lots of stats and features including actual supplier and retail websites. Yes you will need to pay $9 or $49 per month to get the most out of this platform but if you find a winning product you can make that small investment back.I would definitely recommend checking out Product Mafia if you’re looking for a winning products membership that is both low cost and low key with lots of features.
