If you’re in the market for a drop shipping or e-commerce course then you might have come across Chris Blair and his VIP offer called eCom Vantage. Being rated as one of the best courses (self rated that is), at $2,000 one time or 5 x $500 payments it’s definitely targeted towards a certain individual so let’s see what you actually get and whether it’s worth it.
If you haven’t heard of Chris Blair then I don’t blame you. There is hundreds of people with that name online so you need to delve deeper into Youtube to find his personal blog and his videos. One you do, you start to unravel his extensive travel, lavish lifestyle, multiple business owner and previous courses which seem to have been related to internet marketing and most of them seem to call him a scam.
- eCom Fury and Master Level Marketing (MLM)
Fortunately providing training in e-commerce is pretty fool proof so you’ll be pleased to know eCom Vantage is not a scam, but it does have all the hallmarks of being one, such as that hefty price tag and a 7 day refund policy. Yes you read that right, 7 days to decide if a $2k course is worth it or not.
Chris does claim to offer a no questions asked money back guarantee within that time and there’s no small print to indicate otherwise. With that said you should be covered if you do decide the course isn’t for you.
eCom Vantage Review
Once you drop your coin into the course through the average looking sales page you’re greeted into the members area with six modules:
- The Basics
- Important Foundations
- FB Ads
- More Traffic Methods
- Extra Resources.
Seven videos complete this section with videos including choosing a niche, domain names, making a Facebook fan page, signing up for Shopify, shipping and some other videos on becoming the market master which is Chris Blair’s technique on gathering data and images from Pinterest and Facebook.
The videos are short, the audio is pretty clear but there is a lot of word documents and it’s slightly messy.
The videos are quite short, only 8-10 minutes for the most part and this section was relatively straight forward. Unsure if you actually needed to watch most of these videos.
This section features eight videos on Shopify apps, installing a custom theme which is called Konversion (value $297), finding a good designer to make changes, customer support, engagements and dealing with disputes, chargebacks and claims.
Another super short section.
Finally the course starts to thicken out in this module with thirteen videos on product selection, choosing the right products, loading products into your store, customizing products etc.
Videos include pricing strategies, using webinars to promote products, managing products on your store, product analysis and there is various webinars featuring Chris Blair which are slightly more interesting to watch than standard videos.
Another module with a wealth of content, 31 videos on Facebook ads for you to enjoy. I won’t go into too much detail here about all the videos but like most other courses they include all the usual ads such as audiences, targeting, creating ads, lookalike audiences, advanced images, carousel ads, video ads, ad management, post life spans etc.
Other videos include the eCom Vantage extreme scaling method and dynamic ads. There is videos on manual bidding and Chris Blair’s unique approach to running Facebook Ads.
Too be fair this section does offer lots of value and content.
More Traffic Methods
This module includes various videos including:
- Using Pinterest
- Email Marketing
- Valentines Day & Holiday Promos
- Christmas Tactics
- SEO 101 with James Brown
- Instagram Basics
- Using Twitter
- Youtube Ads.
There’s lots of different videos in this section but it’s a bit confusing as it feels like all the videos are thrown together and you’re left to find the best method for your own store. Remember this is a course marketed as a VIP one yet there’s not much ‘hand holding’ going on here.
This module includes some basic PDF files including default shipping rates Chris uses, the apps he has installed on his store, some suppliers he has used in the past and using funnels.
Unlike a lot of Facebook groups, this group is vibrant and active.. Chris does answer questions daily and does live streams in the group regularly. He claims to have created ‘a culture where others also participate in the group.’ Chris claims the value here is $5,000 a year. Yeah right.
eCom Vantage Bonuses
Despite what’s included on the sales page, over $9,000 of free bonuses, these are simply videos in the course. Don’t buy into the hype that you’re getting additional content and it’s definitely not worth $11,000 in total.
eCom Vantage does offer quite a lot of value but at $2,000 or $2,500 on the payment plan it’s a hell of a lot of money for people thinking of starting an e-commerce business. Given other courses on the market for $197 it’s a huge investment and most people will never make their enrollment fee back. You could spend the saved money running your first Facebook Ad campaign rather than dropping it into a course like this. There is limited one-to-one support and the theme included can be bought separately without buying the course.
This is definitely not a VIP course in my opinion.
